Annabel Lee

FOR BLOODY VALENTINE DAY 3 SCROLL 1 POST DOWN

I made this card for the Annabel Lee Challenge at Quoth the Raven.

The poem insired me to make this

You can find the poem here

This is the angel that killed Annabel Lee, and she regrets killing a deep love beteen two happy people. She holds a feather of the raven in her hand. (I know there is no raven in the poem, but I thought it looked good in the pic.)
I tried to make the background look like the kingdom by the sea, and tried to make the chilling clouds, that killed Annabel Lee. Let me know what you think...

Bloody Valentine day 3

This is the last day allready, time flies when you have fun....

Welcome to day 3 of the Bloody Valentine hop organized by Smeared Ink

the blog roll is on my side bar, please do visit all of the bloody bloggers, they are making awesome projects, and leave them some nice comments.

I got 3 thingies for this last day, and these are on their way to my SSV, hope she likes....

Again not bloody (somehow bloody doesn't work for me these past days, so sorry for that)

I made a cute little canvas, I put a thick layer gesso on it and made it sort of crackle, let it dry and then painted and as a finishing touch added some gold paint. Then I made the stamp on it and coverd it with clear embossing powder.

Because I liked the image of the stamp so much I decided to use this for another project, I've been altering domino's and I wondered if this would also work on Scrabble tiles, and it did....

and then I made this necklace

The other side of the tile has an initial on it so I can't show it. The box was inspired by Black Dragon's awesome bracelet boxes ( although this one is a lot smaller)

Hope you enjoyed day 3 of the Bloody Valentine bloghop, and hope to see you again at the Smeared Ink Forum or at the Smudgy Antics Challenges

Smudgy antics Challenge Anything Goes

This weeks Smudgy Antics Challenge is an easy one, it's anything goes, check out the rules here.

I used one of the Heavy Metal digi's combined with the sentiment from the new Smeared Inks Bloody Valentines digi's (I used the" bloody valentine" and the "soul mate" sentiment and cut the words and letters so I could make: "be my valentine") , you can find the Bloody Valentines here, the background is a Alterations Embossing folder, inked with distress ink (dusty concord and peeled paint) then sprayed with perfect pearls and water. The corset was coloured with stabilo colouring pencils.

here it is;

Hope to see you at Smudgy Antics

Alice in Wonderland Curious Clock

FOR DOMINO TUTORIAL SCROLL ONE POST DOWN, FOR SMUDGY ANTICS CHALLENGE SCROLL 2 POSTS DOWN

This is another Alice in Wonderland project, a Curious Clock.

It's sort of a shadowbox, the clock has 3 layers and was difficult to get a good pic of it, so I'm sorry for the bad pics

If you want to see a better pic, this clock was published in Craft Stamper Magazine (March 2012 issue)

The clock is a TH Die and the Alice stamps are from "de Stempelwinkel"

Tutorial altered dominoes and how to make a domino book

Altered Dominoes and Domino book tutorial:

There are different ways to alter a domino, this is how I do it.

1) Altering domino using Alcohol Ink

What you need;

Dominoes, Alcohol Ink, Stazon and Modpodge or Glossy Accents

Cover the domino with alcohol ink and let dry a bit

Stamp image with Stazon, let dry and then cover with modpodge or glossy accents to give the dominoe a nice shine and to protect the image, let dry.

2) Another way to alter the domino is to stamp on a piece of paper and glue this on the domino.

This is what you need: glue, versamark , clear embossingpowder, heat gun and optional: stickles

Stamp the image on a piece of paper, cut to size, colour the image (I use colour pencils) and ink the edges. Glue the stamped piece of paper on the back of the domino.

Press the domino with the imageside in the Versamark and then cover with clear embossing powder, heat till it melts and let cool.

When the domino is coverd with embossing powder you can leave it that way or put some stickles round the edges (see left domino).

3) Altering dominoes using markers
What you need: permanent marker (I used black), Sakura Glaze pens, Modpodge or Glossy Accents.

Add sticker to domino and colour the domino on the ouside of the sticker using a black permanent marker. Colour the inside of the sticker using the Glaze pens. Let dry and then cover with Modpodge or Glossy Accents.

4) Making the domino book

You need 2 altered dominoes , 2 pieces of ribbon and a strip of paper (length you choose, height, measure the height of the domino)

Accordion fold the strip of paper (size of the fold should match the size of the domino), it should look like this:

Then glue a piece of ribbon to both of the dominoes like this:

The dominoes will be the covers of the book they come to each side of the accordion folded strip see pic below.(The pic shows the domino without the ribbon, but the ribbon should be attached to the domino before you attach the paper strip to the domino).

When you have glued the dominoes with the ribbon on each end of the strip of paper it,
should look like this.

Then fold the paper inside the 2 dominoes and tie a bow in both ribbons:

that's it, not to hard huh?
